Why should I register my program on Active and Healthy?

Active and Healthy is an excellent opportunity for you to promote your program within your local community.

We have been informed that GPs, health professionals and community members may not be aware of appropriate physical activity programs in their local area. Paper-based resource directories often become out-of-date quickly due to changes in program details, and are often not widely circulated. A web-based directory is a quick and easy way for them to access program information, and also allows for the information to be updated by the Program Provider as changes occur.

Some other benefits include:

  • Free advertising and promotion of the program within your local community and beyond.
  • Ready access to your group by health professionals and your local community.
  • You will receive (via email) education updates, information on new initiatives regarding falls prevention and general physical activity, and a regular newsletter.

What do I do if I receive an email saying my program is due for review?

In October 2016 we implemented an email system to help keep the programs on Active and Healthy as up to date as possible. These emails start when a program has not been reviewed for 9 months. The emails will continue until a program has been reviewed otherwise it is removed from Active and Healthy if it has not been reviewed for 12 months.

All programs receiving these emails need to follow the below process to remain online whether or not changes need to be made. Following this process lets the Active and Healthy team know that the programs are being kept up to date.

To review a program:

  • Log in to your program details.
  • Go to Online Programs.
  • Click edit which appears next to the program name.
  • Check the details are correct and make any necessary changes e.g. to the time, place or contact details of the program.
  • Click the tick box above the save button to indicate you have reviewed the program.
  • Click save at the bottom of the page when you are finished.

Please ensure you click the tick box before clicking save. This allows our system to register that you have reviewed your program and will cease sending reminder emails to review your program. The emails will start again if your program has not been reviewed in over 9 months. You will then need to repeat the above procedure.
