As we age, many people tend to find themselves worrying about their balance and taking extra care not to fall over.

Our Falls Prevention Clinic is designed to help elderly individuals maintain their independence and regain their confidence to live their best life.

This 45 minute class focuses on improving balance and confidence with everyday tasks, whether that be at home or in the community, as well as reducing your risk of falls and fractures. During this class you will complete a number of exercises that are designed to improve your strength and balance, therefore mitigating the risk of falls. These exercises may include:
  • Strength Exercises e.g. body weight, free weights, machines
  • Balance Exercises e.g. sit to stand, step ups, tandem/single leg balance
  • Coordination Exercises e.g. gait training, stepping
  • Flexibility Exercises e.g. upper and lower body stretching
  • Education and Awareness e.g. how to safely get up after a fall

Opening hours:

  • Monday to Thursday, 10:30am - 11:15am
  • Classes are not run on public holidays or during the Christmas and New Year periods.

Cost:

$45 per class/visit

Target age:

50 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

We do require clients to be able to independently weight bear.

Special requirements or conditions:

Participants are required to complete an initial consultation with one of our exercise physiologists prior to joining the class.
Participants are also required to wear enclosed shoes.
