Program details

Stepping On is a 7-week falls prevention program for older adults aged 65 years and over and Aboriginal adults aged 45 years and over, who have had a fall or are fearful of falling.

  1. The Program will help you learn how to reduce your risk of falling and how to maintain your independence.
  2. Stepping On includes group exercise to improve your balance and educational talks from experts.
  3. Topics covered include home hazards, community safety, managing your medications and more.
  4. No prior knowledge or exercise experience is required!

This program is free for participants eligible under the My Aged Care Commonwealth Home Support Program. Please contact us if you would like support registering with My Aged Care. Participants ineligible under this program are able to attend through self-funding or we can support you to find an alternative program or service.

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

People with dementia, cognitive impairment or progressive neurological diseases<br /><br />
People who rely on a walking frame within their home (us of frame or walking aid outdoors is accepted)<br /><br />
People living in residential aged care facilities.

Special requirements or conditions:

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear to exercise in.
