Program details

Stable Foundations (1-on-1) is an individualised falls prevention and balance training program designed to improve strength, stability, and confidence in daily movement for mature adults.

Delivered by university-qualified trainers, this program provides dedicated one-on-one coaching tailored to each participants balance ability, physical condition, and confidence level. Its particularly suited for individuals recovering from minor balance issues, managing chronic conditions, or seeking more personalised guidance before joining a group class.

Each participant begins with a comprehensive balance and mobility assessment, including the Balance Error Scoring System (BESS) a validated clinical test used to measure postural stability. The results are used to design a personalised program that focuses on improving lower-body strength, core control, and reactive balance.

Sessions include progressive balance and functional strength exercises using Keiser pneumatic resistance machines, balance pads, step boxes, and resistance bands. Progress is tracked through the Healthspan training app, allowing participants and trainers to monitor improvements in balance, mobility, and overall function.

Training takes place in a purpose-built facility designed for mature adults, featuring supportive flooring, handrails, open space, and a calm environment that encourages safety and confidence.

Each session runs for 30 minutes, focusing on balance-challenging and strength-building movements to reduce falls risk and improve overall stability.
