Program details
Walking basketball is a low-impact, slower-paced version of traditional basketball designed for people of all ages and fitness levels, especially those returning from injury, older adults, or anyone seeking a gentler way to stay active. Sessions go for one hour.
The rules are similar to regular basketball, but running, jumping and physical contact are removed, making it safer and more accessible. Adjustments are also made to suit individual needs.
Despite the slower pace, it still provides a great cardiovascular workout, improves balance, coordination, and mobility, and helps build muscle strength without placing excessive stress on joints.
Beyond the physical benefits, walking basketball encourages social connection, teamwork, and confidence, creating an inclusive and supportive environment for participants. Its a fun way to stay healthy, remain engaged in the sport, and enjoy the mental and emotional wellbeing that comes from being active with others.
