Australians 65+ have been showen to have a 80% higher chance of having at least one long-term health condition when compared to younger populations. It should also be noted that adults 50+ in Australia have a higher prevelance of insufficient physical activity and not meeting Australian guidelines versus younger Australian populations.
Fit Over 50s group classes aims to address these facts by implementing progressive resistance (strength) training to ensure our aging population can live their lives to the fullest potential.
Each individual that wishes to join the Fit Over 50s classes comes in for a one-to-one initial consult with one of our friendly practitioners. During this consult our practitioner will attain a comprehensive health history and perform a whole-body screening to identify key physical areas that can be addressed with exercise implementation. From this initial consult our practitioner will discuss either conducting a few more private one-to-one consults to ensure safe transition into our group class or will inform you that they are confident in your ability to safely and effectively join the group class.
The Fit Over 50s classes use resistance-based exercise circuits that can be modified for each individual client to enable them to effectively and safely complete the circuit but also improve muscle strength.
Classes run for approximately 45 minutes in length but it is advised for the participant to arrive 10 minutes prior to the class so that a health check-in and warm-up can be completed to allow for effective use of time during the group class.
Classes are capped at 12 participants to ensure timely feedback and monitoring of exercise performance.
Opening hours:
- Wednesdays, 10:00am- 45 minutes
- Fridays, 10:00am - 45 minutes
- Saturdays, 9:00am - 45 minutes

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:
Must have the ability to mobilise safely as classes are run in a group setting.
