Program details

This program utilizes a multi-dimensional approach to falls prevention, specifically targeting the key physical indicators of stability and mobility in seniors. The curriculum focuses on:

  • Lower Body Strengthening: Intensive work on sit-to-stand transitions and functional thigh-building exercises to ensure the power needed for independent movement.
  • Specialized Foot & Ankle Mobility: Targeted footwork designed to build muscle around the soles of the feet and increase range of motion in the ankle joints, which is critical for reactive balance.
  • Lower Limb Stability: Calf building and whole-leg strengthening through a series of progressive stability exercises that challenge the center of gravity in a safe, controlled environment.
  • Balance & Proprioception: Incorporating specific balance-challenging movements in both our standing chair-fitness segments and our aquatic sessions. The water-based exercises utilize hydrostatic pressure and resistance to improve postural control without the risk of impact.

The program is designed to be inclusive, ranging from gentle movements for those with limited mobility to more vigorous challenges for active seniors, ensuring every participant improves their functional strength and confidence.
