Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

Rather than age targets, we prefer to look at level of conditioning. The program is achievable for people to are deconditioned and also has levels for people who have more exercise experience.

The program is designed around participants using RPE as their guide and is not choreographed to music, so speed of movement is self-determined. We have had people with walkers/ frames and sticks participate successfully.

The coaching and speed of delivery, along with the physical demonstrations of the exercises allow for participation for early-stage dementia.

Special requirements or conditions:

A clear, trip-free and light environment (eg no rugs or electrical cords lying around), suitable footwear is recommended and a sturdy chair is required. It is important for participants to keep in mind their eyewear, medications, level of hydration when undertaking exercise.

Those with comorbidities (eg vestibular issues, neuropathy) should speak to their medical team prior to commencement.

We also strongly advise that participants should listen to the Standing Strong education Session as well as the onboarding education session to hear about Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) and other safety instructions, prior tpo the commencement of the program.
