Program details
The Onero program is an evidence-based exercise program specifically designed to prevent fracture due to osteoporosis by stimulating bone development and reducing fall risk in people with osteoporosis or osteopenia.
The program is based on research from the LIFTMOR study, which found that 78% of participants improved bone mineral density at the femoral neck and 82% improved bone mineral density of the lumbar spine results comparable to medication. Because the program stimulates muscle, bone, and balance, the likelihood of a fall is also significantly reduced.
Classes are delivered by accredited Exercise Physiologists & Physiotherapists and are capped at a small group size to ensure close supervision and technique-specific coaching throughout every session. Each participant completes an initial assessment prior to commencing the program to ensure suitability.
The program includes:
- High-intensity resistance training
- Balance and fall prevention exercises
- Progressive loading for bone stimulation
- Core strengthening and postural work
Classes run twice weekly and are recommended long-term for optimal results.
