All of our classes are now part of our COTA 'Strength for Life Program' @ the PIT. Council on the Ageing NSW empowers people through advocacy and information to create an age-inclusive NSW.
Strength for Life Program is an exciting new exercise program to help older adults improve their physical strength and fitness. It is a progressive training program designed to improve strength, balance, coordination and endurance.
As well as increasing strength, other likely benefits of the program include:
- improved balance
- increased mobility
- reduced risk of falls
- preventing or managing arthritis, osteoporosis, diabetes and heart disease
- speeding up recovery from illness
- reducing lower back pain
- improved ability to undertake daily living tasks
- opportunities for social interaction
- improvement in self-esteem and mental well-being.
This program is a part of our Longevity Senior Services 50+ Club, so all current LSS members welcome. Client must have already participated in any of our other classes before being issued a personal program.

Tuesdays
- 10:30am to 11:30am
Cost:
Initial assessment $40 for initial class
$10 per class/visit (pay as you go)
Target age:
50 Plus
Participants who would not be suitable for the program:
Dementia/cognitive impairment, post-surgery or those with walking aid are not suitable
Special requirements or conditions:
Bring a drink bottle and a towel and you need to wear white sole shoes.

Beginner
Leader qualifications:
Fitness Leader - Accredited
Fitness Leader - Registered Cert III
Fitness Leader - Registered Cert IV
Stepping On Facilitator
Tai Chi Instructor (Accredited)
Tai Chi Leader
Qigong Leader
