Program details

Chair Pilates- is designed for people with physical limitations getting up and down from the floor in regular exercise classes like Pilates MAT and Yoga.

This class puts a focus on building muscular strength and endurance without stress on joints, back strength and maintaining good posture. The aim is to give more ease in your everyday life activities such as walking, stair climbing, gardening and sports.

Exercises are done in a chair and some standing to improve your balance. Focus is on breathing, spinal movements & alignment, shoulder mobility and stability, arm strength, balance, core strength, foot & gait exercises. You will achieve greater body awareness and confidence.

6-8 week blocks- 4 x per year

Pay as you go: (You can attend this class casually, there is no need for a full Term commitment.)

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

-Serious & acute spine , hip, knee , ankle joint injury.
-current & recent fractures
-post recent surgery
-Dementia or cognitive impairment are welcome however they will need a carer present.
-Walking aids welcome

Special requirements or conditions:

Wear comfortable clothes ; shoes ; bring non slip socks.
bring a cushion if the chairs are too hard

-There are 3 disabled car parks on site.
-Otherwise please park outside the main gates on the grass footpath
