Program details
Walking is an innate ability that develops from early childhood. Walking is important to keep our musculoskeletal system moveable and our internal systems functioning well. As we live, we may accumulate tensions and habits that we no longer need.
Our walking workshop is suitable for people of any age, whether it is walking your dog, strolling through a shopping centre, or bushwalking on your local trails. This is not a walking group, rather time spent learning how to make walking easier using the principles of the Alexander Technique. Topics include:
- Discovering your walking baseline
- Preconceptions about walking and moving
- Principles you can apply immediately to start moving with more ease
- Activities that will get you thinking and moving
