Program details

Yoga & Balance is a yoga class with a focus on balancing. Postures taught in class aim to improve awareness and stability to help prevent falls and injury. During the 1 hr session we will do various exercises, including:


  1. Bi-lateral movements while standing to improve strength and stamina (eg. marching on the spot)
  2. Balance poses to build stability. (eg. standing on one leg safely and in increasing stages)
  3. Proprioception skills to gain confidence in footing.
  4. Body weight exercises eg. wall plank
  5. Ankle, knee and hip mobility exercises for muscle tone and strength
  6. How to get up safely from the floor

Please seek advice from a medical professional if you have had recent surgery
