Program details
Yoga & Balance is a yoga class with a focus on balancing. Postures taught in class aim to improve awareness and stability to help prevent falls and injury. During the 1 hr session we will do various exercises, including:
- Bi-lateral movements while standing to improve strength and stamina (eg. marching on the spot)
- Balance poses to build stability. (eg. standing on one leg safely and in increasing stages)
- Proprioception skills to gain confidence in footing.
- Body weight exercises eg. wall plank
- Ankle, knee and hip mobility exercises for muscle tone and strength
- How to get up safely from the floor
