Program details
TopUp is an online exercise program created by physiotherapists at the University of Sydney to help older people build strength, improve balance and stay independent at home.
Backed by Australian research showing fewer falls and better mobility, the program includes 8 easy-to-follow videos for different ability levels.
The first video is a gentle 10-minute seated routine, and later sessions progress to more challenging standing strength and balance exercises up to 45 minutes in length.
People can access the programs at any time and progress at their own pace.
No special equipment is needed just safe shoes, a sturdy chair and something to hold for support, like a dining table.
Accessible on computer, tablet or phone, TopUp is a safe, flexible and effective way for older people, carers and health professionals to support healthy ageing and reduce fall risk.
