Program details

The Activ 4 Life program is a small group exercise class designed and supervised by exercise physiologists and physiotherapists. The program utilises floor exercises, light weights and cardiovascular equipment to assist with a range of chronic diseases as well as their risk factors.

The program includes cardiovascular exercise, core stability, flexibility, functional exercises and whole body strengthening.

So what is the Activ 4 Life Program?

Activ 4 Life Classes are currently available at Moorebank medical centre and will soon be available at Casula. Classes typically last for 45min

Who is it suitable for?

Activ 4 Life classes are suitable for anyone who wants to improve their health under the supervision of university qualified exercise physiologists. The program is specifically designed to assist with the management of a range of chronic illnesses as well as the associated risk factors. These chronic conditions include:

• Type II Diabetes.
• Cardiac conditions and post cardiac surgery.
• Osteopoerosis.
• Stroke.
• Rheumatoid arthritis
• Depression.
• Falls Prevention

Opening hours:

• Monday & Wednesdays 11am-11:45am
• Not available on public and school holidays

Cost:

$20 per week on a direct debit membership
1st class is free
Accept EPC referrals for group classes
Private HF accepted

Target age:

50 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

Only Wheelchair - bound patients

Special requirements or conditions:

Required to join up on a membership for 12 months after the first 5 sessions which is a $20 per week membership.This give access to the gym 24/7 and free access to the Classes.
A gym and cardio program is also included in the costs should the patient wish to participate.
