Program details

4 Steps for a Better Life is an exercise program for over 60's.

The aim is to increase strength, mobility, and balance in a fun social atmosphere. Classes use equipment such as hand weights, exercise bands, and balls. Classes go for one hour. Suitable for beginners, and for both men and women. 

Classes finish off with a social tea / coffee at the club, everyone welcome.

Once a month the focus is a tai chi / Qui-gong for the hour to help with balance, mindfulness and cognitive improvement. Invitation to stay for lunch after the tai chi sessions.

Opening hours:

  • Wednesdays & Fridays - 10:00am to 11:00am, with social morning tea afterwards

Cost:

$10 per session. Only pay for sessions attended.

Target age:

60 Plus

Participants who would not be suitable for the program:

Not suitable for people with dementia or using walking frames. (walking sticks accepted)

Special requirements or conditions:

Bring your own weights. If new, bring a set of 0.5kg or 1.0kg hand weights, plus a drink bottle.

Minimum experience:

Beginner

Leader qualifications:

Fitness Leader - Registered Cert IV

Tai Chi Instructor (Accredited)

Special directions:

Classes are held in the bowling club dining room. A ramp is available for entering the property. Disabled parking on site.
